Rocky road

Hi today I had my 3 Dncs over for lunch and then they helped me make rocky road so I can take it on to work tomorrow.

When Dsis come to pick them up I gave her a tub with a few bits in it for the kids after dinner. Dsis and the kids then left.

DH came home about 10minutes ago and showed me a tub he found in the front garden. It was the rocky road! I called Dsis to say she must have dropped it, problem is before I can say anything she thanked me for babysitting and that the kids loved the rocky road as did BIL.

Usually she isn't shy about saying she does like something or doesn't want the kids to have something. DH thinks IBU to not say something to her. I just said to Dsis that I'm glad they like it.

Aibu to have not said anything?

Shit forgot to say she knew we were making it.

She's weird Hmm I don't think there's any way to mention it to her without it getting really awkward. I would assume since it was left in a place you would obviously find it that either you were meant to, or that it was an accident. But in either case, why lie? I'm going with accident, but for some obscure reason she thought it better to lie Confused

YANBU.

if she was my dsis I'd be straight back on the phone and say dh has just come in and has found the rocky road tub in the garden, and ask what's going on?

She's either lost it and being polite, or not very subtle leaving it in the garden, either way i'd want to know, but I guess not all dsis are honest with each other.

I'd keep it until she comes again, give it to her and tell her "You forgot that last time". Grin

Also, even if heavily coached, I wouldn't expect the three children to not at any point mention the fact that they didn't get to eat the rocky road. Weird.

In what world do you not say "But DH just found it in the front garden?"

I don't get it?

She's dropped it by accident, doesn't know where its gone & was being polite :)

It's fairly obvious. She lost it, felt bad so said they had it and it was lovely. If she had left it on purpose in your garden, she wouldn't have lied.

Silly lie but sometimes people do when they feel bad.

I would have made a joke and said 'oh really, dh found it in the garden....what the hell did you eat?' And laughed.

What on earth? Just call her back and say "you didn't enjoy it because DH found it in the garden"

Bizarre thing for her to do.

The other option is that her kids pinched some that you kept for work and when you open the fridge it will be half gone Grin

There is no way she got rid of jt in your garden! She must be cleverer than that.. She prob just lost it, I personally wouldn't say anything

I don't know why I didn't say that DH found it. Dsis has a habit of saying black is white, that we have discussed things that I don't remember or I've agreed to do something I didn't remember agreeing to. So I for a minute on the phone i actually thought she had it if that makes sense.Blush

Spartans DH has been banned from the fridge just encase Wink

i reckon she must have stopped off somewhere on the way home and thinks it fell out of the car there, but did not want to admit to losing it. she thought she was being polite by saying that they liked it.

why the heck would she deliberately leave it virtually on your doorstep then say they had eaten it?

[you did not also make a box of bird feeder balls and they have eaten them by mistake?? reference to thread years ago]

It was an accident - no way would someone wanting to bin it drop it in full view in your garden. She's fibbing because she's embarrassed.

She probably just dropped it or left it by accident and was being polite.

if she didn't want her kids to have it then that's her perogative at least she was polite and said thank you and how tasty it was.

Dsis has a habit of saying black is white

OR this is part of a Machiavellian scheme and she is testing what she can make you believe. Tomorrow she will rob a bank and try to convince you that you did it. Wahahhaaa!
