Try those padded vests, m&s used to do them

I don't think YABU! Why should you have got used to them? They've only been around for 70 or so years, then before that it was the awful corset and then before that - what? Certainly not a 'foundation garment'?

Enjoy your freedom! Eventually others will realise that they will be much more comfortable without and the image and 'ideal' of women's shape will change to the more natural (I hope!).

So...don't wear them?

If you feel like you need something there then just get a soft crop top or vest or something.

"I am only a 36A"

I sense an intervention is required here.

i hate them, never wear them although i have small boobs. was gutted when i recently went away to find the beach wasn't topless so had to wear a bikini top..yanbu

Since I had breast cancer three years ago, I prefer to go bra free when I'm at home. I'm also small, breasted, so,don't need the support.

Feline09 Thu 06-Aug-15 22:11:36

Then don't wear one? I don't agree with PP that everyone finds them uncomfortable, I hate not wearing a bra and feel more comfortable in one. Some of us with bigger boobs need support.

OP if it's nipples you don't like why not wear one of those crop tops

Janethegirl Thu 06-Aug-15 22:12:22

Just don't wear them. Most people wont care and if they do? Does it matter? No, of course it doesnt!

SorrelForbes Thu 06-Aug-15 22:12:58

OP, do you think you might want one last try at finding a bra that fits? Have you seen this guide?

pinktrufflechoc Thu 06-Aug-15 22:13:05

I don't wear bras. Just try a crop top if you're worried about nipples?

I like those stretchy comfort bras like crop tops, some come lightly padded for under t shirts too. I think they are reasonably supportive if you are 36A(32DD?)

paxtecum Thu 06-Aug-15 22:17:28

The crop tops are very comfortable either.
I hate wearing anything tight.
I prefer not to wear a bra and never did until I was about 35.

Life was easier in the 70s. I was never aware then that any hint of a nipple had to be hidden away.

paxtecum Thu 06-Aug-15 22:18:40

I meant to write that crop tops are NOT very comfortable either.

pinktrufflechoc Thu 06-Aug-15 22:19:20

Just don't wear one then? smile

Sorry lara. There are several bra experts on here and the bra sizing intervention has become a "thing" on MN. Basically, you measure yourself under your bust and measure over your bust. Your underbust measurement is your band size and the difference between your underbust and overbust indicates your cup size. A one inch difference is an A cup, a two inch difference is a B cup, a three inch difference is a C cup and so on.

Someone who claims to be a 36A could well be a 34B, 32C or 30D.
