AIBU?

for a house blessing

I'm completely freaked out..
We moved into this house a few months before dd was born. Sometimes felt uneasy hearing footsteps etc but since dd was born things seem to have escalated, for example hearing heavy breathing round her moses basket etc. Tonight she is in her own room has woke up a few times crying which isn't like her. I've heard banging on the walls and so has my sister (dp is away) and strange sounds over baby monitor. I'm aware I sound crazy but has anyone else any experience? Think a blessing might put my mind at rest.

Was the heavy breathing your daughter? My newborn makes all sorts of noises when asleep.

Other than that your house is surely haunted...

I thought it was but when I sat up it sounded to move to the other side of the other side of the room. I'm tempted to bring her into my bed but she's now sleeping so soundly.
Do you think so bumwad?

Why on Earth would you let your child sleep in a creepy room on her own? I'd move her back in with you until you figure out what is going on with your house.

Agreed, I would move your baby in beside you asap. I'm a big feartie though, and there's no way I'd be going anywhere like a creepy room after dark.

Pipes knock. Babies are unpredictable. Baby monitors have a lot of interference.

My baby monitor picks up all sorts of noises that then transmit through. It picks up dogs barking outside that you can't hear downstairs.
But if you're worried about it, get someone to come and bless your house. GrinGrin

Err....because there's no such thing as a creepy room. Unless you mean it's been decorated for Halloween and it has skeletons in it and wax heads on spikes.

Sid James and Diana Copeland maybe.

Oh no. Paranormal activity in UK. Confused

OP, did you get your baby out of there?

OP, I lodged for a while with a lady who in another era would have been described as a white witch. She did a lot of house blessings and it did seem to put minds at rest. PM me if you'd like her details - this is if you'd rather not go down the Christian route.

Put babies Moses basket in your room. We could pick up our neighbours on our baby monitor, freaked us out when we heard a mans voice talking coming from upstairs!

Agree about the baby monitor.

Sitting in my house with the baby asleep upstairs in the afternoon, baby monitor on. Conversation starts up through the monitor and I recognise the voice of the woman across the road; from the conversation she was having she was obviously talking to her builder.

Didn't happen every time it was on - probably only when their baby monitor was on - and I think we got rid of it in the end but apparently it was a very common problem with wireless monitors - this was quite some time ago don't know if it is still a problem.

So it's possible the heavy breathing etc you're hearing OP could be coming from one of your neighbours' houses if they have a monitor on the same wave length. Our road was quite a wide one, so it's possible the sounds you're picking up could be from someone quite a few houses away.

As far as the other sounds are concerned, sound travels and houses creak and move all the time.

There are no such things as ghosts.

Banging pipes, interference on the monitor. Getting some loon to splash a bit of perrier about the place will not stop that.
