Aibu to wear a white cardigan, white shoes and white accessories to my friend's wedding. My dress is plain royal blue so obviously not wedding dressy. My shoes are admittedly my old bridesmaid shoes (white) and I'm not a bridesmaid this time. Aibu as my dress is in no way white?

Well I don't think white accessories will look particularly nice with a royal blue dress but I don't think it's an etiquette issue.

Agree with above poster.
White accessories fine for etiquette but can't really picture it looking ok?

I think it sounds fine as long as the accessories match the dress, in style.

What's wrong with white and royal blue? Sounds fine to me.

Sounds fine to me too. And definitely not an etiquette issue.

Sounds absolutely fine to me! How can white not go with blue?!

Errrr the white goes with the blue really well. Thanks.

Of course white and blue go together!

It'll look and be just right op.

Sounds lovely. Colours reversed (white dress, blue accessories) would be an etiquette issue.

Yes, it will be fine.

Sounds good.
As long as it's not white stilletos with black tights a la 1980s!

Report
mintpoppet · 11/07/2015 16:04

No its not 1980s! Thanks

Lol! That'll be ok then! :-)
But YABU for not having a thread about unreasonable Bridezilla wedding dress outfit demands like I was hoping for!

Can someone explain why white with royal blue is apparently a no no?! I think it sounds fine!

Almost bought a skirt in those colours today. Those colours look stunning together.

White and navy go really well together - in fact it's a combo I wear a lot. I also don't think that it would be unacceptable at a wedding!

Whilst I'm personally not a fan of royal blue, I honestly can't see why people think it won't be okay with white. It sounds fine, OP.

Where was your white cardigan from btw?

Whats wrong with white and blue Confused op its only the dress that is the thing if its white cardis etc is fine. I once saw a white lace jumpsuit at a wedding the trousers were so wide it looked like a weddingdress lots of comments the wearer was the grooms sister

Just realised it was royal blue, not navy - no idea where I got that from! I'm actually wearing a royal ish blue and white today. What weird comments earlier that white and blue don't go together. White goes with any colour!

I think it'll look lovely and no etiquette issues.

As long as the cardigan isn't a long wrap around one that will cover the whole dress, then it's fine :)

No its a normal length cardigan.
