WIBU to take travel sickness pills when BFing

Apologies, posting for traffic..

Going on a ferry tomorrow, I get terrible sea sickness I once threw up on a jetty and suddenly had an 'Argh what am I going to do' moment.

Tried anti-sickness bands, flat coke, Loki g at the horizon in the past, nothing seems to work except the tablets.

Am BFIng DD2, 16months (usually only in the morning and evening) and am aware travel sickness pills are a no-no when BFing, but would they be ok to take on the basis that I probably (although not guaranteed) will not be feeding DD2 for a good 8 hours after taking them.

Ask your pharmacist!

They will advise better.

There must be different types, they might be able to recommend a short-lasting one that is processed by your body.

Or give dd a bottle for one night?

I've asked pharmacist before - they said they can't prescribe anything as they all say 'do not take when breastfeeding'.

'give DD a bottle for one night' have you ever had an EBF baby? She'd throw the bottle

Namechange, yes that's a good idea - I had ginger sweets when we went on a boat when DD2 was tiny, and they worked well.

I would give her a morning feed and then take the tablets. Then skip the evening feed. She is 16m so presumably eating and drinking properly...she might get a bit cranky at bed time but will have forgotten all about it by the morning. The tabs should be pretty much gone from your system in 24 hours.... But do get professional advice.

I just remembered I have some anti sickness tablets I was prescribes a couple of months ago when I had gastroenteritis, so I've taken one of those... Thanks everyone

Late to the party but I'm currently pregnant and have hyperemesis and I've been given phenargen which is an otc antihistamine that's used for morning sickness and travel sickness - so I'd imagine it's fine
