About a year ago we booked tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs for Dp, ds, dd and another as yet unchosen person. The concert is near BIL and sil's house. It turns out that dd can't go, so we decided that Dp, ds and BIL would go, BIL woud give the other ticket to one of his friends and sil, mil and I would have a girly evening. I love the Kaiser Chiefs, but I can't do live gigs because they are too loud for me. (Pathetic I know). Anyway, we arrived this afternoon (we live 250 miles away) to discover that BIL's friend couldn't go so SIL was going, leaving me to spend the evening alone with mil. AIBU to be a bit miffed about this?

You'd be right to feel disappointed but I'm guessing bil was let down by his friend so sil stepped in so the ticket wasn't wasted. Doesn't sound as if they intended any upset.

Yes its disappointing but if she wants to go that much, I'd leave it, put a smile on your face (don't offend the MIL) and make the best of things.
