DD1's class has been chosen by the school to take put in show with all the other schools from our borough.
All pupils have been given parts and asked if they have t - shirt and leggings in a particular colour at home to bring them in, if not the school will provide them, so last night I hunted out DDs outfit (colour is white so hasn't got various shades) and sent it in today, they were plain as requested.
She showed it to her teacher today who said it wasn't right and she would provide her with an outfit and we will have to pay for it!
AIBU to think I should not have to pay as I have provided exactly what requested.

Well it can't be right, no ones buying stuff they don't need to for giggles and shits

A miscommunication??

Miscommunication is what I am hoping for, DD is usually very good at telling me things and getting it right but of course she could have got it muddled up.
DD got pretty upset when I said she probably misunderstood and repeated that her teacher said that she will get the outfit and she will need to pay her back.
Will clarify tomorrow.

Maybe ask the teacher why it wasn't right?

Schools have little enough money as it is, maybe say you don't want her to take part if the money is a problem.

It may be rather than the colour, it's the style. Sleeveless/short sleeves/long sleeves or something.

I would ask what is wrong. The teacher isn't going to say that for the sake of it, and if it's with several different school it probably isn't the teacher's fault either.
Although bear in mind that you'll probably come out of the concert feeling riled because one of the schools has totally ignored it and gone for any colours. Wink

DD said the leggings were too short, they are three quarter length, nothing about the t-shirt and didn't occur to me that this could have come from the organisers.
I just don't want/can't really afford to pay out for a new outfit. DD is really excited about taking part so I will if I have to.
I have posted this before speaking to the teacher, I need clarification from her.
DeWee your right that will really tick me off Grin

It is crap but ending up buying stuff for shows and plays is common. Very common. animals fornativity, particular colour of t shirt etc, I'm accumulating quite a collection of plain coloured tops
The teacher has not been polite or understanding though.
