Stupid effing Virgin

Swapped bedrooms with my son about a year ago so I have the smallest room, Had freesat installed within the house and a cable going into my bedroom ready for a tv when I had redecorated it and could afford a tv, Bed is against wall that cable comes through and cable is under the bed.

Had virgin broadband installed about 5 months ago, They said they had to run cable through my room as they couldn't go through loft as they are not allowed for saftey reasons, I said that it was not a problem and the hole that had my freesat cable coming in was big enough for them to run the virgin cable through as well, They said ok,

Finally finished room and bought a new tv today, went to connect to freesat and find that they have cut the cable to my freesat, So frigging angry. Tried calling only to get through to someone who I couldn't understand and got cut off, Emailed them, still waiting for a responce,

What are my rights here? I paid for installation of both the freesat and Virgin, It is going to cost me to have the freesat cable reinstalled, Should they pay for that?

Complain but they will probably say you need proof they cut the cable

This thread is not what I thought it would be about. Hmm

It is not uncommon for companies to do underhanded tactics like this to each other so it's harder to switch back. I'm not sure what you can do 5 months later though.

Sorry Bulbasaur

I will see what they say when they get back to me but I was so mad earlier, I was not completely happy with the instalation anyway as they have run some of the cable over the carpet which not only looks crap but will need to be pulled up when I replace the carpet but I didn't make a fuss as that won't be happening anytime soon, But now with this hopefully I can show that the fitters were just lazy in general,

Yes, Bulbasur I thought it would be about flights so was ready with backing for Virgin!

Actually I've always found virgin really helpful with stuff like that, much better than other provided.
I know it's a pita, but hopefully they will get someone out ASAP to fix it.
I would try to call again though, it will get sorted quicker that way.

Oh I see, free sat is a different company. I am not down with the technology.
