I sold something on ebay last month, send the package, carried on with life.

Seller recently got in touch, never got item. Pulled the house apart looking for the post office receipt, no joy. So I accept my fault, I should have held on to the receipt. So I go to issue a refund.

Except I have no funds in my paypal account so I attempted to add my bank account. No go, ok I tried to add our joint account, no go.

So I get in touch, for some unknown reason I can't add my personal account and as OH has added the joint account to his account I can't add it to mine. . .

I can't add funds via my debit card and/or credit card.

I have a near defunct savings account (bad times Grin) so I think I'll transfer money into that and use that, still computer says No.

I can't add this account because I've tried to add a different account from the same bank, I can't add the joint account 'cause OH got there first. I can't use a card, so what the holly balls am I mean to do??

All I want to do is use PayPal in the way it advertises itself, but I have no idea what to do now.

I have been in touch with the the person I spoke to was lovely, really really lovely agreed with me that it was a PIA, but couldn't advise what else to do. . .

So from my POV they claim they're the faster, safer way to send money, make an online payment, receive money they don't tell you that they won't make it easy. . . . . .

Where did the funds go? Can't you transfer them back?

Incidentally did you send it by on online trackable service? If not then the receipt won't matter but I guess you could then claim from the PO. Can't hubby transfer money to you to pay it?

Get your DH to paypal the money to you as a gift - no charges if it comes from his bank account, then you can transfer the balance to the buyer.

I had an issue adding my bank account but got around it by essentially setting up PayPal as a payee from my bank account and then transferring the money from online banking to PayPal rather than requesting it from PayPal. I think the necessary payee details will be available from your PayPal account.
