DS had his birthday over the weekend, he is now 3! Friday we went to a Christmas singalong and then softplay, Saturday we went to kids theatre in London, Sunday we had his party. I had plans to go to Essex for a couple if days yesterday and today, but my knees went so couldn't drive. Didn't go out yesterday and was planning park for today but I can't be bothered, even though it's beautiful out there. He's perfectly happy sitting at home watching TV and playing with his new pressies.

Tomorrow we are seeing friends for play date, Thursday he goes to CM so will be busy, Friday we have a Christmas party, Saturday he's going to the panto, Sunday we're going on the Santa train and then seeing family. Monday he has another party, so plenty planned. AIBU to just sit on my arse and MN today? Or should I haul myself to the park in the sunshine?

Sounds like he needs some chill out time and so do you.

Oh, I clicked on this thinking you had done something so mortifyingly embarrassing you couldn't show your face!

Of course it's okay to have 2 days at home. Probably a very good idea to have a rest in the middle of your busy Christmas. Enjoy Smile

So true but yesterday was chill out. Is today excessive as well?

To be totally clear I do not plan to bake with him, draw with him, build duplo with him or any of the normal things I would do with on a chill out day. The TV is on, the toys are out and I intend to do nothing more with him than wipe his arse as required and fetch and carry food and fluids.

Some people work on that principle 24/7 so YANBU to do it for 2 days.

Enjoy Smile

We are doing that too today. My son is the same age and I asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to play at home. Fair enough!

It sounds like you could do with a couple of relaxing days and if your son is quite content to stay in then I think that's fine. I got exhausted just reading about your hectic social life! Enjoy yourselves and have a lovely Christmas!

I imagine he will be very happy to stay and play with his new things, you don't need to be busy 24/7
