I'm sick of hearing people around me body shaming others. Someone on my FB commented on A post about an overweight celeb's exercise regime saying "what a fat shit" (I know, I know, but he's related by marriage so I take no responsibility for actually liking him). About 50 tossers "liked" this comment. A few told him off and he responded saying it's ok to point it out as she's an adult in the limelight and "she can't just expect good comments".
SIL was round today talking about it and said she "judges fat people" - when I suggested it was May be nothing to do with her how other people are she played the "strain on the NHS" card. I was triumphant this time though as I calmly pointed out that her being slightly underweight meant her pregnancy was closely monitored and she had scans every 3 weeks. Which technically means her weight cost the NHS money and resources (Disclaimer: I don't have an issue with this was just using it to make a point).
So instead of me just getting the rage and whinging to DH can anyone give me any brilliant comebacks to use when I hear these comments? It's not just those 2 incidents, I seem to see it everywhere these days.
And not that it's the least bit relevant but I'm not overweight.
