I am trying to apply for an advanced standing transfer from my current uni (up north) to one in London so that I can be closer to my DPs in order to support them. I've completed the first year of a BA and did fairly well, 2:1 average and as i'm a mature student I was rather hoping my A levels would be disregarded!
Most universities i have contacted have told me i cannot join their course in the second year because their course is so unique I can't possibly have covered it all

My actual problem is that I cannot for the life of me remember my A level results. Well, I think I know what they are, but I can't just put my estimate down in the UCAS form. It asks for the bloody exam board too! I think, any my Dsis and DPs agree its a possibility, that I got BBC. It could well have been BCC though and thats quite a difference. I also have to include GCSE results (know the grades, but not the exam boards).

They are asking for so much info, i don't understand why one of the unis is insisting I apply through UCAS when there isn't even an option for transfer applications.

How can I check what my grades were? my original ucas application with all the lovely info is long gone. i've contacted my old school to ask and haven't heard back. I'm currently abroad with all my paperwork pertaining to my education in a storage unit approx. 1000 miles away and this cannot wait until i can get to it.

help Sad

p.s. I know it't not a real aibu, posting here for traffic

A few people on my access course were in the same boat, and the only way they managed to get hold of the results was by contacting the place they sat the exams. Really doubt that there is any other way, if you don't know the exam boards.

You could make contact with all the exam boards, explain the situation and they can check. Start with OCR and Edexcel

I definitely remember AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL featuring in my teenage nightmares but my gcses were a mix of all of them. do you think it matters a great deal if i guess the exam boards, because i 100% know the grades.
i suppose that's fraud though?

i only decided I really ought to transfer a couple of days ago and didnt foresee UCAS having deleted my application from 2008. I deferred a bit

argh and now i see it asks for individual module grades.

do you think the exam boards will tell me over the phone? is that not a security issue?

Your current university should surely have a copy of your results - have you checked your student portal?

I only say my A levels in 2009, I should bloody remember my results! Storage unit is in York, family are all in London so my storage locker is useless.

Shame my DM didn't see fit to frame my results Grin

Student portal only contains my uni module results, although if I ring my secondary school tomorrow and they can't tell me I'll try the uni and see what they say. I was trying to avoid telling my uni until i know it will be possible for me to transfer as I didn't want to cause any ill feeling within the very small dept if I do end up going back.

Ring your uni Registry. They're highly unlikely to speak to your department.

I put 'don't know' for all my GCSE/A level boards, I didn't have any problems :)

Thank you!

I'll do that and hope they are willing to cooperate. They charge £10 for them to email another educational institution my academic transcript. Blardy joke.

I've so far put unknown for my exam boards but I still have to check exact grades (sincerely hope I'm not remembering them incorrectly)

Do you think I should include module results if I can find them? The reason being is that for some I did really well (100%) and in one for history for eg, managed to get a 50. Might show I'm capable? And explain my grades, or just that I'm all over the place and my degree could go either way?
