I have DT 4 and if left to their own devices will wear the same t shirt every day out of a wardrobe each full of clothes

I feel sad because they have some really nice things but every sat/sun they wear the same thing unless I make them wear something else

am I being mean in forcing them some variety in clothes?

My ds is the same... He wears his oldest, ankle swinging jeans and old t shirt all the time! He never wears any of the smart stuff he has! I let it go...pick your battles and all that!

It's clothes !
Be grateful . Stop buying them too much , then you won't resent the waste .
At four my Ds lived in his cowboy outfit or princess outfit . Happy days I'd love to live through again ...

YANBU, but you will look back and wonder why you wasted your energy forcing them to wear it.

I have one like this though. I feel your pain.

You have my sympathies. Ds1 looks like he stole his clothes off a tramp half the time but I have given up trying to talk him into all the nice stuff I have bought him and have learnt to just roll my eyes inwardly. He's only 7 I'm actually longing for the lynx fog and blobs of hair gel on the bathroom floor teenage years.

Huh? Do you mean they keep wearing it even when it's dirty? If not, and they just really like that t-shirt (or whatever), I really, really don't understand why it should bother you. Confused

I would just take half out. Stick in high cupboard. They will have to wear others. Swap every few weeks

ds is 4. he loves his power ranger top (which is actually a plain blue regatta fleece) and will wear it at any chance. As long as he is clean i am past caring what he wears!
