Just that really.
Go downstairs ready to make my cup of coffee and find a mug of snot next to the sink.

I am snot-phobic at the best of times (would rather deal with poo/sick)
Apparently I am overreacting because It makes me feel sick and I am pretty annoyed by it.
1) don't spit into the mug in the first place
2) if you do, don't bring it downstairs and put it next to the sink
3) don't then joke about giving me that mug to drink out of

I don't think I'm unreasonable at all!

BigArea Sat 22-Mar-14 08:14:50

YAdefinitelyNBU, not one bit. Vile.

scarletforya Sat 22-Mar-14 08:15:34

Holy shit. I would lose my fucking sponge!

What filthy dirtbag did that? YANBU. I feel sick even reading it.

ipswichwitch Sat 22-Mar-14 08:17:23

Not at all unreasonable. I'm also snot phobic (I gag and occasionally vomit every time I have to blow my nose so this fecking cold I've had for 2 weeks now is my idea of personal hell), so I probably would have vomited in the offenders face, then accuse them of overreacting if they dared complain.

ViviDeBeauvoir Sat 22-Mar-14 08:37:33

It was a family member staying in my house!
I was incapacitated with revulsion (like you Ipswichwitch I retch and vomit at the sight of snot) so they didn't feel the full force of my wrath.
Apparently they didn't want to wake anyone (upstairs) up by washing the cups up hmm but they weren't bothered about it enough to not go downstairs and put the cup NEXT to the sink

Catsmamma Sat 22-Mar-14 08:39:47

that's utterly disgusting <retches>

never ever invite them to stay again <retches some more>

thereisnoeleventeen Sat 22-Mar-14 08:47:23

I had an ex who did this once, he used a drinking glass vile vile vile...I threw the whole lot in the bin, I would never have been able to drink from it again with out retching!

What kind of guest are they??!!

simonelebonbon Sat 22-Mar-14 08:57:54

A guest?!!!

I think it would be the last time they were invited if they were my 'guest'...

Completely unacceptable. I am angry for you.

CSIJanner Sat 22-Mar-14 09:19:19

Oh dear Hod! And a guest? They won't be staying in my Ouse ever again with that move and attitude. YANBU

CSIJanner Sat 22-Mar-14 09:19:34

scarletforya Sat 22-Mar-14 09:37:12

Please tell me you have thrown it in the bin and read the riot act to the 'guest'.

Disgusting animal!

Longdistance Sat 22-Mar-14 09:38:49

Chuck it in the bin, the vile creature, not the mug. Burn the mug!

Whatisaweekend Sat 22-Mar-14 09:45:27

OMG!!! I am not snot phobic but that would make even me want to vom. Don't care who the house guest is - they would be on the absolute last warning. WHO does that ?? I mean, seriously, who thinks that is ok?? Uuurrrrrrgh!

diddl Sat 22-Mar-14 09:49:10

Do you mean phlegm?

Or has someone sort of blown their nose into the cup?

Either way both disgusting & I would be asking them to leave.

DomesticSlobbess Sat 22-Mar-14 09:53:09

I have a pretty strong stomach but that makes me feel fucking sick! Blurgh! They wouldn't be a guest again that's for sure!

ohfourfoxache Sat 22-Mar-14 09:55:12

Holy fuck! shock

Why would anyone do that? Why?

Especially in someone else's house.

What the fuck were they thinking?

Can you chuck this person out op?

JeanSeberg Sat 22-Mar-14 09:55:59

They gobbed in it you mean? Who the fuck does that and not use a tissue?

Even more revolting that he was planning to wash it up, infect all the other washing up and presumably put away with you being none the wiser.

Jesus Christ.

Mouthfulofquiz Sat 22-Mar-14 10:07:07

That is so disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate snot. I hate people who cough it up, snort it back, blow it out of their noses then look at it.... In front of other people! Do it in private. Jees. Don't leave it by the sink.
I would have vommed.

They would be leaving my house right now!

SugarMiceInTheRain Sat 22-Mar-14 10:29:39

I'm not snot-phobic and just reading that made me want to throw up. What kind of person does that? They'd certainly never be invited back. Boak.

Heathcliff27 Sat 22-Mar-14 10:33:02

Yuk yuk yuk! Cup would be thrown out!! Tink

JeanSeberg Sat 22-Mar-14 10:33:48

You'll have to tell us what the worst was Donna...

TSSDNCOP Sat 22-Mar-14 10:38:52

Ex-guest. Leaving with said cup in bag, sharpish.

WitchWay Sat 22-Mar-14 10:40:56
