Can I add 'spider' fake eyelashes, Ronseal fake tan and putting foundation over their lips to that list?

I call it the drag queen look ( no offence to drag queens! Sure they do their make up better) luckily my 20 yr old spurns this fashion

True. However, I was a teenager in the '70s and went out with sparkly stars stuck to my face.

Yes, with the rider it's only a small proportion of 20 yr olds that trowel the slap on like this.
Love the 'drag queen' analogy Grin

Not the ones round here, that is a very specific look that represents a particular section of the population. In fact it's often hard to tell how old they are, as many mothers and grandmothers also go for the same look.

This scares the shit out of me! I overplucked my eyebrows as a teen and they never properly grew back - I have to go over them in pencil every day or I look terrible. I'm terrified I look like one of those women and people just aren't telling me!!!

What's worse is that it will be captured forever on Facebook so they can't erase it from their memory. One of the reasons I'm glad I'm as old as I am...

JonSnowKnowsNothing you look like one of the women in the eyebrow link. I thought you'd want to know.

What are young uns meant to do if not create memories to cringe at 20 years down the line?

squoosh · 16/03/2014 18:12

Oh dear, it was a joke. As obviously I have no idea what she or her eyebrows look like.

Mine have gone the other way and are very bushy. I feel like I'm overcompensating for my peers Sad

I can tolerate the look on 20 year olds. They are adults (technically), so are old enough to make their own choices about how they look. It does bother me when children of 14 and 15 are emulating it. The whole fakery of hair extensions, bleach white hair/black hair/ little mermaid red hair, massive fake eye lashes which are very often stuck on with semi permanent glue, fake tan, fake nails and an assortment of piercings, is just so.... Bleurgh. Our generation wore a ton of makeup when we were teenagers (80s) but it didn't affect us doing regular children stuff like swimming. It's also didn't take a ton of money and hours to construct..

wow what a nice judgy bitchy little thread.

my dss went through the goth, Emo and rocker phases, we loved it as it was funny. they are now 20s and fairly normal.

my teen dds are faked tanned, big hair and eyes and trowel it on. great fun and a phase too. and if not so bloody what. how twatty to judge in looks alone.

stop picking on the girls here and thank god we are all different.

I had 80s big hair and bat wing tops, so what?

personally I would rather see a man/woman who took some care with their appearance rather than a smelly scruffy hair unwashed, pale puffy faced po face judgy smug tit head.
