Should probably be in mental health but just want company so posting here to get more traffic. Am off work with stress, meds aren't working yet, have to decide by Friday whether to keep the job that is making me ill. Today I just feel on edge the entire time. Can't settle to anything. Someone please tell me it will get better!

It will get better Flowers

What can you do to help ease the stress today?

Do you like listening to music? Can you go for a walk?

The meds will work - it's a bugger that they take time.

Is it sunny where you are? Could you manage to get out & take a walk?

I know it's said so often, but exercise really can help a bit.

It will get better. If you know how to focus on deep breathing techniques, that might help to settle your mind, or as myroomisatip suggests, maybe listen to some music or go for a walk.

Once the decision is made to keep or not keep the job, you will be in a position to move forwards.

Thank you. The thing about the meds is they don't give you them till you really need them, then you have to wait! I think I'll try a walk. My daughter will probably nod off if I push her round a bit. She keeps trying to hug me better!

Enjoy your walk - it's really spring like out today.

Thanks

It'll get better. Meds take time to kick in. Don't spend too much time thinking about making a decision by Friday...... put it out of your mind and have a couple of days not thinking about it, and then make the decision on Friday. Worrying about it will only stress you out more and make you more anxious and then you'll feel more anxious about feeling anxious (if you see what I mean, its a vicious circle).

Cut out caffeine, go for walks, read up on Mindfulness and Cognitive Bahaviour Therapy (CBT), have a go at meditation, do stuff...... remember to eat.

I've been there and I know it's scary, here's a link that I found useful at the time

Thank you all for your help, encouragement and kindness. The decision is made. The job has to go. It will be hard financially for a while but I feel lighter already.
