AIBU?

To ask Gap to refund me 30%

Bought some clothes in Gap at the weekend all still unworn with tags on.

Realised I have 30% voucher in Grazia.

WIBU to take the stuff in with voucher and basically return and rebuy with voucher immediately.

I just feel a bit embarrassed doing this!

Just do it! What is there to be embarrassed about?

You can ask.

They might say "no, you must present the voucher at the time of purchase".

Is the voucher still valid now? Or was it only valid at the weekend?

If it's still valid now you could return the clothes and re-buy, which would be a bit of a hassle, especially if the only one of an item in your size is the one you just returned.

Voucher valid till next Monday, essentially I could just return the stuff get my money back and go in tomorrow with the voucher and rebuy but a hassle so want to do it all at once, will go at lunchtime!

Definitely do it. Nobody should ever pay full
Price at Gap!

I would! They're usually ok about this sort of thing anyway.

No one should pay full price anywhere! Retailers inflate their prices so they can lure us in with discounts.

I would. However I wouldn't ask. I'd just go to the till, refund it all, walk around the shop, try some other things on and then re-buy with the voucher Smile

I suspect from your post that you are far too polite for your own good. Do it. They're not your friends, and what they think of you really doesn't matter. Incidentally, I would put a tenner on it that Gap staff will simply think you've done what they would do in the same circumstances.

I bought ds a coat, got it home and found it only fitted (12-18 month size, he's 11 months, i was expecting growing room) so took it back. They refunded me the 30% from a promotion unasked, i was well chuffed!

I've always rated the service in my local Gap. Yes, just do it, I'm sure they'd do the same!

Do it. I work in a clothes shop and we get a similar thing all the time where a customer will buy stuff full price only for it to go down in the sale afterwards. Providing the clothes are unworn with tags on and they have the receipt then we have no problems refunding them the difference. It's no different to them returning the items full price and them coming back at another time to buy them in the sale, so it just makes sense to do it all at once.

Yes, how dare retailers and high street businesses try to maximise their profit margins.

Was it an online code? If so, any chance you can share said discount code so I can stock up on baby grows :)
