AIBU?

Aibu to be completely fed up with prejudiced hateful people using a tragic incident to peddle their ignorant views?

It was a truly sickening and horrendous act, it makes me sick to the bottom of my stomach. But seeing some views such as -

"All going on like its a racist act its a religious act and it isn't one that us true English people follow!"

"I'd love to give David Cameron a talking to!Silly prick ain't even in our country doing his fucking job!"

"Armed Police shot 2 men, then ran to their aid and then took them to hospital to be treated and looked after! Hello?! They have just brutally murdered a man and decapitated him! I for one do not want my tax money paying for their lives to be saved"

People are allowed to express opinions and anger, but to express such ignorant views makes me so fed up. When you're already down about humanity seeing these views makes me seriously feel worse.

AIBU?

Don't buy the newspaper. Switch channels if the tv. Problem solved.

Nothing to do with newspapers or tv Habba - it's all over my newsfeed.

I get that you don't have to read it. It just shocks me at how seriously ignorant some people can be.

I've seen some hateful, racist views peddled from so called 'friends' on Facebook. I have done a lot of defriending today Hmm

Fine LastTango I give up on MN. I try and try to post and fit in, I didn't realise there was already another thread about my personal view.

It really is the final straw and made me see that I clearly don't belong here.

I think trythelasttango meant try looking at the thread on here for more of the same kind of ignorance?
Apologies if read that wrong.

I'm completely flabbergasted by 'friends' on Facebook people I went to school with etc and the horrible things that have been said.

IMO extremist behaviour doesn't represent a whole population/religion.

I have done a fair amount of commenting and defriending tonight!

Obviously I have missed something? Do I even want to look at my FB feed?

There are a few threads going saying similar things, but try not to take offence at it being pointed out to you, OP. It's bound to happen when a major news event happens, and feelings are stirred up in such a way.

I've noticed one or two saying 'this country needs to do something'.

Well yes because obviously we don't breed any murdering bastards in our country, do we? We don't have people that murder one another, innocent people, their own children, other people's children. Oh no. We're all perfect.

Hmm Hmm Hmm

I have read one comment along the lines of

"let's go kill every Muslim we see"

And another....

"Oh well that murderer saying how our government doesn't care about us, he should shut up as he obviously hasent faced any hardship in his life"

Fucking idiots.
