And this afternoon Jeremy Vine.

I joined on the back of the Gina Ford furore in 2007 - lots of stuff in the papers about how vile mumsnetters were and I thought it sounded great. I have never left

Grin Helen. The 'Amanda Holden Furore' doesn't sound as great.

Well they got me via Matthew Wright a couple of years ago, already to be judgy towards all those nasty wiminz I'd heard about and instead found the majority of you were all lovely.
Of course there's some that fit under the media stereotype, but IMO, it's the most tolerant forum I've ever found.
Let's hope others will discover this too when they come for a nose.

They got me via Lz Jones, I'm ashamed to say.

Off to put radio on.

Is there some kind of schedule that us doing the rounds in Journalist Sleb land? Every few months some journalist/not A List sleb comes on MN, doesn't like it and then spouts off in the papers to increase their profile. I swear, their agents have an annual planner. "Right, now Amanda you have April 2013, Liz, you've already filled your quota for the next few rounds, so you'll have to wait to slag off MN until around late 2015"

And it's NEVER anyone like say, Johnny Depp coming on here for advice. And looking for a new lady friend Wink (FYI Johnny, in case you're around, I am married but i'm sure DH and I could negotiate a deal).

I think the woman speaking now (Christina?) speaks with a great deal of ignorance.

OhBuggerandArse · 08/04/2013 12:48

Christina Odone. What on earth was she on? HEr version of Mumsnet was totally unrecognisable.

trice · 08/04/2013 13:10

I am very angry about Christina Odone.

Oh. Actually I'm not. I just don't like being called a bully. I'm actually quite nice.

I think it was very tame. Hardly worth it.

I'm new! I came because I wanted to see all the bitchy comments and see how bad it really was, and it turns out everyone's almost everyone is friendly and helpful!

It's a shame really... As if I need yet another site that takes up all my time! ;-)

I came here indirectly because of MN being in the news when Gordon Brown wouldn't say what his favourite biscuit was. The site name stuck in my mind so I came here when DD was born to ask for breastfeeding advice and never left. I wish I had known that it was ok to come here if you were TTC or pregnant, I used to go on the forums on the cow and gate website for pregnancy advice but they were bloody useless.

I ventured in when bored out my wits at another bloke film on the TV the other night. Got to have something to do at 39 weeks pg! The Gender Reveal thread came dangerously close to making me snigger the baby out. Might have to re-read that in a few days if I'm still in the waiting room of life...

reggiebean · 08/04/2013 14:11

FeckOffCup I'm not TTC or pregnant, and don't have any kids, but the FAQ's said it was okay for me to be here. Grin

Just find the community to be quite helpful, and can skip over the poo/nappy/etc., chat if it doesn't apply :)

Report
FeckOffCup · 08/04/2013 14:20

Oh I didn't mean it wasn't ok to come here if not TTC or pregnant just that it would have benefitted me to know that but I thought I wouldn't be welcome here unless I was already a mum.

Report
reggiebean · 08/04/2013 14:23

Only meant to say I felt the same, and had to check the FAQ's to see if I was allowed because I wasn't sure :)

there are some posters though that are bullies and nasty as well. I see threads where I would like to ask a question/state my opinion that I dare not to after having seeing others attacked stating for their views and not for sharing the collective opinion.
