To think that unless every parent/carer fills in the Ofsted Feedback Questionnaire it's all a bit pointless?

Just that really. Just done it online, 344 in the school and so far 20 have been done. Deadline 11am tomorrow.

I suppose they assume anyone with strong feelings/issues would participate so may raise something that wouldn't have come up otherwise. At least you have chance to have your say, if parents can't be bothered to fill it out it probably says more about them than the school anyway.

I think the forms should also be offered to anyone whose child has left in the previous 12 months. I expect that wold be particularly illuminating about nurseries.

True Back. And the percentages are shown so you know how many have replied. Sad really that is a percentage of who filled them in rather than the whole school though.

Ooh sparkling. Being nosey here. Is that yr ds2s school - one of the feeders for my place I am guessing? Didn't know they had the Gits in.

And yes, parental questionnaires aren't worth the paper/Internet Soave they are written on, mostly due to poor participation.

They take all the info into account no matter how few have done it. Says something about the school if parents haven't bothered.

Good point about nurseries, we pulled one of our dc's from one as their conduct wasn't great. Thought I should complain to OFSTED at the time, but then felt a bit mean and thought better of it. Definitely would have completed a questionnaire after leaving though, this place was rated 'outstanding'.

Not everyone has internet access, nor do people check emails every day.

Generally people only complain rather than praise so all the feedback will have a negative bias.

The instructions came via letter. I would imagine more than 30 out of nearly 350 would have internet access. Interestingly most of the 30 have been complimentary.

it's only a Strongly disagree-Strongly agree type questionaire.

Our instructions didn't come by letter. We had an e-mail which I didn't pick up until too late - because it is all done so suddenly these days, the window for replying is very tight.
I always used to fill in the paper anonymous form. The online one requires you to give your name, I believe, which will put some off.
I had a quick look at the form previously - isn't it there all the time for feedback, not just put up at Ofsted time? - and lost interest when I got to one particularly stupid question. "Is teaching at the school good?" You can't give a school-wide answer, you can only say for each individual teacher. Daft question!

Didn't have to give my name. Agree the questions don't allow for any variables at all though. there should be a N/A box. ie the bullying question, if you child hasn't been you don't know if the school deal with it effectively.
