I'm sat in the car with two sleeping kids in front of my own house. I know I'll never get them inside sleeping, but I can get my WiFi out here and I've got a book so all's good and they've been poorly so want to let them sleep.

My mil has just turned up, gone inside my house made me a cuppa, brought me some biscuits and is now doing my dishes.

I bloody luff that woman.

My neighbours must think I'm mental though.

Can I join in please? My MIL and FIL have just phoned to wish me a happy birthday - FIL even sang to me! They are coming to babysit tomorrow night so DH and I can go out together. Grin Grin

Hope I will be as nice a MIL as her....!

You are soooo lucky! I won't start on about my mil cos I shall be here all day but let's just say we shall never be best friends! I tolerate her rather than like her and she prob feels the same about me.

That is lovely. My MIL is also fantastic but unfortunately lives 3 hours drive away. We will see her at half term (and my lovely mum). I can't wait - I love catching up on the family gossip while she cracks open the red wine.

My mil is supposed to be here watching my 2 so I can get some packing done before we go away tomorrow. My lovely 2yo ds is a little terror active at the moment and needs constant watching.

Ah, bless her. It's lovely to hear of a good mil/dil relationship. X

I bet you're a nice DIL as well. Agree with Monalotte, nice to hear about positive MILS.

My MIL is fantastic. When DS was 4 days old she drove the 50 miles to our house unannounced so that she could cook us dinner and cuddle the baby while I had a shower and a sleep. This is one of hundreds of examples of her loveliness. I am VERY lucky.

Glad I'm not the only one who sits in car with sleeping baby! Mine usually cries all the way home then falls asleep just as we drive down our street! You're very lucky with your MIL. Mine has hairy moles on her face that prickle when she kisses me goodbye...

What a great MIL. Mine is absolutely super, I love her to bits. I wish she lived closer.

I hope I will be like her and not like my first MIL, who is strangely lovely now I am divorced from her son.

She could write a book on being a good mil. Always willing to help out. Supports you in doing things your way. Level headed when you get all freaked out about little injuries or illnesses with the kids (she's an ex nurse.) Never comments about our differences like she's houseproud and I'm a slattern.

We have her over for dinner once a week as fil is currently working away in the week.

I hope one day I'm as good a mil as she is.

I love my MIL as well. Took DS to see her today and she took us to costa and bought me cake! They regularly babysit for me when I do rehearsals and things as DH works shifts so is often busy in the evenings and i would have to give up all my freelance work if it wasn't for her. DS adores her, and so do I.

Now this is just boasting Grin

I'm well Envy

My mil is horrible and hates me and sadly I feel the same way about her!
