To rant at Virgin Media?

So called Virgin Media to try to get a better deal. All was sweetness and light, they upgradedmby broadband from 10GB to 40GB and knocked money off my bill. Though they were great. For about 10 minutes.

Since then my broadband has not worked. Numerous phonecalls to their
'customer' lack of services and all they try to do is reset the password and switch it off and switch it on again. We now have three usernames and four passwords and everyone time we call they just want to test the various things on the script that they have and must stick to with all the possible combinations of usernames and passwords. They have now left things in the hands of an 'engineer' who will get back in 5 days. Even though it is not a technical problem. Oh and for the avoidance of doubt I am typing this at work.

Anyone else want to rage about virgin media?

Can anyone recommend a broadband provider that provides proper customer service (as in they want to sort out the problem and not just get you off the phone as quickly as possible?)

thanks for listening

I would suggest you leave the bastard. They are not coping at the moment as they have offered much more than they can handle to get new customers and now it's biting them in the ass. DH has been on the phone almost every night for two weeks arguing with them as he knows a little about what he's talking about and knows they are just fobbing him off with crap about passwords. Basically, the problem is going to last until at least the middle of January maybe even April so they are just stalling.
Time for the rats to leave a sinking ship! We are looking to switch to BT

Misread this. Was wondering why you wanted to rant at the Virgin Mary.

we've been with them for about 4 years now and apart from them putting up their prices unexpectedly we have luckily had no issues with them.

however over the past 2-3 weeks i have noticed that we cant connect to our wifi every couple of days. to get it to work we have to switch it off, or switch our devices off (laptop, phone, ipod) to actually make things connect.

no idea if its just our area or an all over problem. we have no one we could ask

Did they come out and fit a new box for the higher-speed broadband?

I recently received an email from them advising me that they are putting up the price of my broadband/tv package. As a result I'm leaving them, it's simply too much money. I have no idea who to use instead though ie I'm not sure that Sky are much better price wise?

I HATE VIRGIN.

Oh that feels better. Where I live internet has been beyond slow since July as they have oversold and can't cope with the usuage / demand. Been told problem will be resolved September, October, January, no December. Still not fixed, latest estimate NEXT FECKING JULY!

To add insult to injury prices go up in Feb and I get monthly letters through my door suggesting I sign up to their superfast broadband.

If I had a BT line I'd be gone by now. They just make me so cross.

I have now left the bastards and just moved to Plusnet as they scored well in a Which report, And they are cheaper. I hope that I don't have to post an I hate Plusnet rant in a few months time.

I had to get a MAC code to switch, Virgin would only e-mail this code to the e-mail address linked to my account. That will be one of the many that Virgin have set up (without telling me) that I can't access because they can't establish what the password is.

Thankyou for sharing in my pain. I feel much better now.
