AIBU?

to think ASOS plus size models look weird?

I am not opposed to plus size models.

However the curve models on ASOS just look so strange. They look like they are actually a size 6 model that has been photoshopped to looked wider.

Is it just me?

I think what it is is that they don't choose plus size models so to speak, just models that are larger than the size 4/6 model that is modelling their standard range....

Linky

No, they look like normal women to me Confused Maybe you're just not used to seeing photos of models with flesh?

UABVVVU, a size 6 is most definitely plus sized IMO

Yes WorralLiberty it generally lists the size the model is wearing, and most of them to me look around a size 16.

TravelinColour the plus sizes seem to start from a size 20 though?

Worra, this model (the one they seem to have used most often) is 5'11" and I reckon she could be a 20.

OK, I prefer to call myself a 16/18 (and am not that tall) but in real sizes I'd be 20/22. I doubt ASOS are lying about their sizes as much as dear Fashion World, who make me a 16 or less, bless them Blush

I'm not sure garlic, I would have put her at a size 18 at the most but then again, clothes and my eyesight can be deceptive.

Asos plus sizes start at 18 and if you're 5'11 you would easily look as "slim" as that model. I'm 5'9" and at a size 20 I don;t look much bigger than that model provided the clothes are suitably draped over my saggy belly

It's funny, my eyesight does that when I try clothes on Wink

But thank you anyway - I spotted a dress I'd like for Xmas

Kewcumber, we seem to be buying the same clothes!

I'm 5'8" - and couldn't wear that black lace dress because I have a ginormous waist. Which could be why nobody's scouted me for a model ... well, one of the reasons anyway.

Ooh, ooh! I know this isn't S&B but which one, Kew?

was actually thinking of this one www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Maxi-Dress-With-Embellished-Waist/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2612410&cid=9577&Rf-300=2078&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=200&sort=-1&clr=Black

I wouldn't recommend anyone with a lumpy body 22+ ventures near most of the ASOS plus sizes unless they have cast iron confidence!

That is beautiful :) Better yet, it's a style that looks best on curves! You'll be gorgeous.

Looks pretty long though if she's 5'11"!
