I went to the poloing station as I feel it is my civic duty to do so. However, I disagree with the whole idea, so spoiled my ballot paper. I wrote Do Not Want and put a cross by that. THis is the first time I have ever failed to cast a valid vote in any election since I was 18. Feeling deeply disenfranchised at the moment.

I didn't vote. I didn't know anything about any of the candidates, it wasn't particularly well publicised and it isn't actually going to make any difference at all. There isn't enough money in the pot to go around, and electing police commissioners isn't going to change all that.

No I didn't because until the beginning of the week I had no idea there were elections and I don't know who is standing or what it's all about.

Like cardi I spoilt my paper on purpose for the first time since I reached my majority. I felt bad, but really didn't know who to vote for. What a waste of time and effort.

I didn't vote because I didn't believe there was any sound basis on which to choose. The coalition government - both parties - reneged on issues they vowed before election they would uphold. There is nobody that can be trusted to do what they say they will. It's an odd democracy we live in. I feel really really bad for not using a vote that people have fought to ensure I have. But I don't feel I can cast it with any faith in what the candidates say anymore.

Because we haven't had any information, because of the bollocks about a totally clean record required excluding good candidates, because of the dominance of party politicians, rather than actual local people (or people with an understanding of how the police force or other public service actually works).

I did! Put the "choose my PCC" link up on my fb page first thing this morning about the candidates too, so others could find out about the candidates in their area.

I tweeted the police guy standing in our area about treatment of abuse/sex crimes (its an important issue to me, post-Savile) and got such a wishy washy response that he lost my vote

Yes. Looked up on the internet and read the different candidates' profiles. Massive difference in their levels of relevant experience - I'm glad I did.

I didn't - I don't care who gets it, I don't have a clue about any of the candidates and I was not giving up the only free half hour I had today to go and do it. Forgot until someone mentioned it on FB earlier. First time I haven't bothered but I don't see why this should be voted on in the first place.
