To not know what the bloody hell I should do next?

My dd's form tutor at school is someone we know outside of school. The form tutor has told me today that my daughter has got in with a bad crowd at school and that her reputation is being ruined by her doing stupid things. Some of the teachers have been complaining about her behaviour, at the moment she is getting the benefit of the doubt but I think that is wearing thin.

Where do I go from here with dd? I don't want her to be without friends but she is already stuggling and behind at school as she has mild dyslexia and this is not going to help matters. The teachers need to be on her side not thinking she's a little shit bag!

you make an appt with the head of year. You tell them that you do not expect your child to misbehave in school and you want a weekly update on her effort and behaviour- outside of whatever else they do.

at the parents evening, leave an email address with each teacher and invite them to contact you directly re any missing homework or rudeness. Do this in front of dd.

make sure that her dyslexia is being actively supported properly.

my dd2 had appalling behaviour(in my view) that i only discovered when it had escalated to internal exlusion, I did the above and it worked

You need to focus on your DD's behaviour & not focus on her mates or their reputation.
If she's falling in with a crowd who have no respect for themselves or others, that implies she's feeling the same, she needs support to find more optimism in life, again, and other outlets for negative feelings.

I do not feel she is being supported at the school because her problems are not bad enough for her to warrent their support but that is a whole other issue really. She was getting help last year but it seems she's managed to get herself just above it this year so doesn't qualify which is frustrating!

Parents evenings also seems to be few and far between - you get a couple of appointments here and there and they last only a couple of minutes!

I'll definatly be making an appointment to go and see the head of year I think!
