Quickly followed by a) Who would do such a job? and b) How would you milk a cat without getting scratched to fuckery?

Sent hubby shopping armed with a list on it amongst other things was cat milk.
Received following phone in which the following was said:

Eerrrrmmmm, I am looking at the milk, I can see normal milk, goats milk, milkshake but not cats, where is it and why do you want to drink that anyway?

Reminds me of the time about 3 years ago when he wanted a vicks stick and I sent him to the pharmacy and he very nearly came back with some tampons. He had told the pharmacy lady his wife had told him to come for that small white thing!

English is not his first language, it has improved so much in the last 4 years but this is just stupid!

Cat milk is cows' milk modified to be safe for cats, because cows' milk isn't good for cats.

I think the OP should LTB, as he obviously does not take enough interest in the cat's life!

OP, you need to have and look at the "Daft things your DH has done" thread in chat.

By the way, is your DH some sort of academic, per chance?

It's still not good for them. They're best on just water.

There's a brilliant bit in Red Dwarf along the lines of "dog's milk because it tastes the same when it's off as when it's fresh"

When DS is doing his "no, don't want that" when I offer him water, Ribena, squash, milk, milkshake.... I move onto Dogs Milk. Grin

Never tried milking a dog myself so I'm glad he settles for Ribena .

I am not sure about special milk - cats can't tolerate lactose and should never have dairy - they don't need it and you don't need to waste your money on it Grin

pmsl @ your poor DH though

jessie how very true. Cat was very lucky she got the milk as he actually does not like the cat. I wonder if I can use that as grounds for a divorce?!

Bobbly will pop over there- glad to see I am not alone! Not at all academic, just a humble shop owner (in a shop that does not stock cats milk!)

I've milked a cat once... it was quite easy actually Grin

She wasn't feeding one of her kittens... it needed mummy milk. So I did what any good midwife would! Hand expression Grin

So perhaps your DH isn't so daft no, he is daft really!

I've seen a picture of cats milk in a shop saying 'this milk does not come from cats' though not sure if its a spoof

The same applies to humans and most of the stuff they drink. In the grand scale of things, a bit of best Whiskers processed-and-rebalanced-cows' milk with a-huge-profit-margin is a fairly blissful existence for a cat.

Some lactose-intolerant humans buy Lactofree, after all. Actually, I think I may be the Whiskers' conglomerate's Target Market. If only I could actually afford a cat!

Cat only gets a carton every 2 weeks, am looking at her little milk beard feeling bad Sad.

Detective you should have milked enough to bottle, there is clearly a gap in the market!

I wonder what the job ad would read for a cat milker!?

This has made me chuckle. I buy on a very rare occasion gold top jersey milk (just realised that sounds like an item of clothing). My dd loves it, wanted to know why it tasted so different. She was told it was cat milk. Believed totally and still loves it.
