AIBU?

Is a mum's night out discrimination?

Received a flyer today where someone in dds class has organised a girl's night out for the Mums. I was just thinking, isn't this a bit discrimating seeing as there are lots of Dads, Grandparents etc who also do the school run?

I suppose 'parent's night out' would have been more inclusive

Either way I'd still rather shit in my hands and clap that attend Grin

God, that sounds like my nightmares made flesh. They'll all be drinking cherry lambrini and cackling. Avoid.

Well it wouldn't be a girls night out if men were invited. I often have a night out "with the girls". Am I discriminating against my dh?

I'm sure the men could organize a lads night out if they want to.

My DS' nursery also had a dad's night out... DH didn't go, but a friend made her DH go. He reported back that it was a contest in onemanship - cars, houses, holidays, gadgets....

Pretty much like the mums night out I attended (will never go again!!!).

Our school have a dads night out every year. Why not suggest that?

Some of the best nights out/in I've had have been with other school mums but I most certainly wouldn't send a flyer out! If the intention is to build a better sense of community or similar amongst parents then yanbu, the flyer should've been more inclusive.

Sounds like hell on earth!!! It's bad enough dropping DS off at school, let alone going out with them! I'm with the shitting and clapping brigade Grin

arf @ Worra! I hate these things to. We have one once a term at DD's school & I go because I work & never see anyone or anything to do with school otherwise and I have no friends/think they might talk about me Grin

I once went out on a 'Mum's from school night out'.
Once.
Only the once.

How do you know Narked? Genuinely curious - how can you tell if someone is a 1st time poster?

Yes it is discrimination. Alert the police and other relevant authorities. This is an outrage.
