AIBU?

And unromantic and unkind to be giggling to myself here....

It's a Facebook one. I have recently had a friend request and a couple of messages from a bloke I knew 30 years ago. I bear him no ill-will whatsoever and remember him as a pleasant chap. But his messages have been a little along the lines of 'I never forgot you, wonderful to hear from you again'. What he 'never forgot' boils down to about two dates and a hand-job. I note from his FB that he is single and using some sort of dating agency as well. AIBU to be laughing and going 'Bloody hell, just how desperate is he?'

I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the fact that his FB pictures are all of him 30 years ago (when he was rather cute) so suspect he probably looks like Mr Creosote now.

Were you giving someone else a hand job on YT and it brought back memories?

I had an fb message from an ex a few years ago (ex when we were at school, never slept together, were together for about a year but still... it said something along the lines of: "I've just looked at your picture, and you are still as beautiful as ever. Not a day has gone by that I didn't think about you and what we could have had." Hmm he is on his 3rd marriage and has two failed engagements behind him too. Grin

SGB - what are you going to do? You should meet up with him Grin

Some of his status updates are along the lines of 'No one understands me, I'm a fragile child who never grew up...' No mention of how many divorces he might have had...

So no, I don#t think we'll be meeting up, thanks. Anyway actually it was him that dumped me 30 years ago.

AF: Nah, that would be spiteful and unnecessary. I'm sure he's harmless and I wasn't even that upset at the time (as I said, two dates and a handjob, and I then went on to shag a couple of his mates, so no bad feeling on my side...)

I bumped into an ex I haven't seen in years last week. He looked a bit fed up, so asked if he wanted to get a cup of tea.

He's text me every single day since, multiple times.

Worth remembering that exes and exes for reasons. Grin

Oh god I had one of these, I went out with him for about three weeks when I was 16. Apparently he's never forgotten me, he should have kept pursuing me, he should never have let me go because he knows we could have made it work! I was 16 ffs! Nutter. I had to defriend him the end as he kept doing embarrassing public status updates that referred to me. Twat.

Akaemma: Oh bloody hell. Will watch out for any signs of that... Perhaps I should start devoting my FB updates to my awful haemorrhoids. No, hang on, there are a couple of FB friends that I quite fancy...

He had all these memories of out "three weeks together" whereas all I remembered was him knocking a table over as he charged out the room in tears after I finished (very kindly for a 16 year old btw!) with him. He was 22 as well ffs!

They don't tend to let go so easily once they've found you again these types, I think you'll find this situation has great potential for more amusement SGB.

Someone tracked me down years ago on Friends Reunited. We never went to school together. I was a barmaid at a pub he frequented when I was 18/19. I was a bit freaked ignored him.

He then found me on FB a few years later. I don't remember him being that creepy back then, but he certainly had become so in the intervening 15 years. Ignored again.

I must have pulled the best pint ever.

I did have another similar not-really-an-XP-just-someone-I-shagged track me down, but he's been fine, civil without being tiresome and a worthy opponent on SongPop. Hopefully this one will go the same way...

An ex friend requested me last year.

Ex in question was from school, way too clingy and weird and dropped out of school in despair Hmm when I dumped him. He was eventually coaxed back and spent the rest of the year writing me 'anonynous' love poems, really bad ones.

funnily enough I declined his friend request Grin

Ha ha, obviously just a stealth boast from SGB on the quality of her skills. Grin
