AIBU?

To tell the window cleaner that I don't want to use him anymore...

or am I over reacting.
Last week he fell off his ladder whilst cleaning our windows. Thankfully he wasn't hurt but was understandably shaken up. He fell approx 7 foot when his ladder slipped. I spent about an hour with him, made him tea and made sure he was ok.

He broke the drainpipe, but accidents happen, and I'm just pleased he is ok.

I pay him by BACS, and was still going to pay him...but he put a bill through the door.

I was so surprised, even though I had intended to pay him...I just didn't expect him to charge me.

Anyway, I've paid him but am intending not to use him again.

Am I being unreasonable?

give him a bill for the drainpipe first before you tell him..

Had he cleaned any windows before he fell off?

Did he finish cleaning your windows?

Did he know that he broke the drainpipe?

Did you talk about it?

If I was you I'd keep using him. You could
End up with trying to sue you.. Do you know if he has insurance?

Thanks all, and to answer your questions:

I'm not sure if he finished the windows, they're done monthly so don't get that dirty.

He doesn't have insurance re loss of earnings, I didn't ask about liability cover.

I'm not worried about the drainpipe, he did point out that he'd broken it. It's the principle really.

Yes it's a bit cheeky, don't know if I would argue the bill but if you don't want him just tell him you don't need a window cleaner anymore as your cutting down on expenses
