I haven't worn a bikini for 10 years. Now 26 and not very toned, a bit of a plump size 12/14 I realise why I haven't worn one in 10 years.

Need one for honeymoon in 3 weeks time.

My boobs are so different that I think I look like a freak even if I wasn't already worried about other wobbly bits.

Aaarrrggghh!

Order online. Only try on top first. If worried buy pants a size bigger.

You're 26. Believe me, at 46 you'll look back and think 'My God, I was a total fox, what was I worried about'. Have some confidence, I'm sure you look amazing in a bikini.

Marks and spencers do nice swimwear by bra size, but if you don't feel confident get a couple of well fitted swimsuits instead.

If you feel self concious why don't you buy a one piece?

Bravissimo bikinis are lovely and very flattering :)

get a Tankini instead of a bikini

I'm with McHappy go try a tankini. I'll never wear another bikini as long as I live. My belly button went all weird after the last baby so I'd rather cover it. I'm a bit jigglier than I used to be too.

If you don't feel as though you have the figure for a bikini, why not go for a one piece?

Go for a tankini and try to get top and bottom individually so you can get the perfect fit. Others are right though - you are 26 and while you might not think you are toned, you will still be a young, loved-up newlywed. Take some sarongs and kaftans for if you feel self-conscious.

Tankinis are vile.

You're 26 and a 12/14, You will look gorgeous, amazing. Honestly you will. All it needs is a little confidence in yourself. I'm not sure about tankinis - it depends on your shape. I think if you've got any kind of a waist a tankini will hide it. Try a few different styles and shapes - Bravissimo are good and M&S have some nice ones this year.

Wear a bikini. Then just take a matching vest top for when you wander

what don't you like about them Rabid

I would wear a bikini and buy once of those baggy beach wear tops. :)

Rabid · 16/06/2012 19:07

They cling to any fat bits. Not flattering. And end just on top of any tummy splurge

Report
Beaverfeaver · 16/06/2012 19:08

Tried tankinis, don't really like the way the tops are never quite long enough or ride up meaning I might as well get bikini anyway.

Always do one pieces so fancied a change, plus they are not easy to get off when you need the loo.

It's also going to be very hot (35-38deg) so don't want to end up too melted

I am, ahem, 53, and buy my bikinis online from Figleaves as I have a size 10 to 12 bottom, but a 34F top. Have you looked online?

How do you know that? Have you met the OP? Confused

Beaver you won't necessarily melt in a one piece. Some of them have very little to them but the material they do have is all in the right places IYSWIM.

Other than that, who about a long sarong to wrap around you when you're not in the water or laying in the sun?

BestIsWest · 16/06/2012 21:07

No I haven't met her. How do you know she won't? I'm 49. Everyone under 30 looks gorgeous and amazing to me. They really do.

Agree. Take a bikini. Keep labels on. Once there you won't care
