Ponyofdoom he wanted to be arrested. Look how the news has picked it up. The same week, he met with Obama over this and not a peep. Slap some handcuffs on him and he's all over the news.

I don't think we are devaluing his work. I have banged on and on about Sudan and simultaneously fancy George Clooney. Young people don't get involved enough in politics and issues generally. One of the reasons is because it is not 'sexy'. Paris Hilton don't care, I don't care. George knows that his being an attractive film star is WHY he is useful to this cause. His father is the knowledgeable, committed one and George comes with him to raise awareness. Same reason Angelina works for the UN and so on.

I spent my entire childhood and teenage years talking to whoever would listen about Third World debt. Bloody Bono starts and it is immediately an important issue. However am I glad a bad musician got involved? Yes! Because now more people care.
