AIBU?

Pregnant with DC3 - AIBU to think MIL is trying to give me food poisoning?

PIL made a 'surprise' visit yesterday announcing that they would be no trouble and bring her own lunch. Fine.

As she started making the said lunch she kindly offered to make me a sandwich - chicken, to be exact. Lovely.

Except, I have just been to the fridge and noticed that the chicken she "kindly" gave me is 3 days out of date!!!!

AIBU to think that there is something sinister in it and she is trying to make me sick?! Perhaps so she can come and wind me up even more before my impending birth help? Hmm Xmas Grin

It could just me a mistake. It depends - is your MIL generally sinister? Do you get along?

Was it your chicken from your fridge?

In that case, why would she look at the date - she'd assume if you'd left it in your fridge then you were happy to eat it, surely?

If she brought it round, it's a different story.

She new it was 'turning' as she announce that she bought it in the discounted section. I assumed that it therefore went out of date yesterday.

To be fair, she is bonkers. She posted all her Christmas cards to our house...

DH sick of me having nothing nice to say about her so thought I would have a little moan here!!

Some people just don't look at the use by date on food. I rarely bother, I just follow my nose! I'm pregnant too and ate some chicken soup which had been open for a week and was past it's sell by yesterday for lunch and I'm still standing! (mind you at 37 weeks only just Grin)
