It really made me cross. There was some round light flickering thing, two other things and something remote controlled operated by a member of staff. They went out of the shop front too onto the shop concourse.
I hate to think what partially sighted people would have done if they had to move round them!!

It's funny, when I last went in there they got those toys off the floor pdq (probably thought I was going to annihilate them in my wheelchair).

I had to go in. It was the only place that i could get the item i wanted!! Believe me if i didnt have to i wouldnt have. It was akin almost to doing Its A Knockout!!

I go in there and there's always lots of toys walking around flashing or singing at us all.

The staff never leave you alone either. I was approached by three staff in the space of about 5 minutes.

What's with the hostility here? The OP has a fair point - my mum will probably be going into Hawkin's Bazaar soon to buy me crap and if one of these got anywhere near her she would fall over just trying to stay out of its way. She walks with a stick but has terrible balance and eyesight problems.

Thankully in the ones round here I've not seen the toys on the floor, just on a display table thing with edges.

A few years back, the pokey shitfaced little fucker employee standing outside decided to charge after people with a gigantic remote-control tarantula. I only saw it from the corner of my eye, and therefore screamed so hard I could have shattered glass, and went completely pale. Bloody arachnophobia.

My DP was livid with the poor bloke, who I'll freely admit didn't know I was quite so scared of spiders as that but to stand at the front of the store running this creature through peoples legs wasn't exactly the best idea in the world, was it?!

I actually had to sit down. Poor bloke came and apologized afterwards, but I still complained. Aside from arachnophobia, what if someone had stepped on it and broken it? Or what if it had tripped up someone and they'd hurt themself? Or what if a small child became almost as scared as I was because they couldn't tell it wasn't real?

It's a bloody daft idea, and I hate the fact that they seem to want to display everything on the shop floor. If I wanted to buy it, I'd bloody buy it without the demonstration, thank you very much!

But most places who display these kind of toys have them in on a table, don't they? Am I imagining that or are the usually on a low table with sides on so they can't jump off? Like a pool table kind of set up?

It's a small cellophane fish that you place in the palm of your hand, and whatever action it performs relates to the mood you are currently in. For example, moving the whole fish means you are feeling indecisive, however if it just moves the head you are being angry.
