AIBU?

AIBU to feel utterly frustrated with BT

DC2 is due tomorrow, DD1 arrived quickly so planning a homebirth for this one.

My BT landline stopped working this morning for the 4th time in a less than a fortnight. Keep ringing up and reporting the fault to them, I keep being assured that it will be fixed only for it to reoccur again after 24hours or so.

Mobile reception is shocking around here; I have to walk around the house like someone from star trek looking for a signal so am really worried about going into labour and not being able to contact DH and midwife.

I have told the people on the fault repair line that I am expecting and that the mobile reception is bad here so I really rely on my landline.

So far no sign of any engineer coming to look at/ fix fault today (telegraph pole is right outside my house) and despite promises their end no update about when it will be fixed.

AIBU to get upset by this? Is it BU to just want a phone that works :(?

Absolutely YANBU. It took them 5 days to come and fix a fault THEY'D CAUSED round here. And don't get me started on their India based customer non service. They're so obviously working from a script that involves agreeing completely with the customer, and doing fuck all.

Oh and good luck with the birth of DC2!

YANBU.

But you may be lucky, I started a similar thread about talk talk being fuckers
and they came onto MN. Hmm Grin

Maybe BT will come and save the day? If not try OFCOM (or whatever is the obudsman) and at least threaten it.

Best of luck for the birth and DC2.

I was with BT for a year and hated every second of it. Problem after problem, after problem. They just didn't care about getting anything fixed either. The only way I found to get their attention was to go onto Twitter and bitch about them constantly and copy them in (I warned my other followers I was about to do it too). After a few messages they'd get in contact and a few times I managed to speak to someone in their GB Head Office.
Unfortunately you have to scream and shout to get them to do anything.

Oh, I could write a book on the crapness of BT.

They were meant to be sorting out my big rip-off broadband bill, and lo and behold 'changed' me to a seemingly even worse tariff.

I complained again and have just been emailed and told to sort it out myself. BT's Chief Exectuive must be so proud.

Good luck, OP, and sympathies about BT. How's the imminent birth going?

Thank you all for your quick replies and support ? and for the link to email addresses. I emailed last night and this morning a lady rang back to say she would take charge of getting it sorted, fingers crossed. (hmm)

No sign of DC2?s arrival yet am probably the only person in the world hoping to be late!!
