... because I've just realised what the date is tomorrow, and something could happen around there?

Don't go to Oxford Street anyway. It's horrible.

yabu I'm afraid - you are handing the streets over to fear.

'Something' could happen anywhere.

YABU.

Eh?

Really - do you think terrorists care about the date? The type of terrorist who acted in 2001 does't care what date it is - they will act whenever they choose.

OhYouBadKitten- Oxford street on a Sunday is already run by fear.

Go to Westfield. Or Covent Garden.

I'm probably missing the point.

The authorities in the US think the same way, I understand that security has been stepped up even more than usual in case any terrorists want to celebrate the anniversary. Confused Ridiculous. If you think that way, you'll never go anywhere 'just in case'.

YABU. Get a grip.

Of course if you are going to be twitchy and irritating then don't go because you will piss off anyone around you, so in that case YANBU.

It's important to be vigilant but don't let fear rule your life OP.

I'm speaking as a recovering Agoraphobe.

I was speaking to DH about this earlier and he was saying how proud he felt to be British after 7/7, everyone just got up the next day, used the tube to get to work, kept calm and carried on.

Go out and have fun OP Smile

YABU re the 9/11 worries.

On a Sunday the best shopping is Spitalfields. I went to Oxford Street with teenage niece on a Sunday a few weeks ago and it was fine at noonish but by mid afternoon it was hell.

YABU to go to Oxford Street. No real Londoner worth her salt would touch the bloody place!

It's probably best that you sit at home in a cotton wool curled up in sleeping bag for the day. You might want to try rocking slowly backwards and forwards too.
