AIBU?

I don't want to be my husband's 'mum'

Husband is diabetic, but sometimes he will not eat, just so he has a 'hypo'. This means that I have to bring him Lucozade or Weetabix or something. My son (age26) has learning difficulty. I would really like to know if anyone else is experiencing this. Just jealousy between husband and son?

Are you saying you feel your DH has a 'hypo' to compete with your son and test to see if you care about him as much as you do for your son?

Er, tell him to grow up? Your son needs both of you to support him, doesn't he?

Just read your one other post on your other thread........kind of puts a different slant on things

You may not be his mother but, unfortunately, you're in the position of carer. If he's deliberately making himself ill either because he's depressed (read your other post) or he wants to get your attention (?) that would be extremely alarming and you'd need to take steps. His GP and diabetic team would need to understand what's happening and they would possibly adjust his treatment plan. If he's simply forgetful then you can work together on how to make sure he remembers.... charts, timers, alarms.

Look into diabetes insipidus, caused by taking lithium
