we took the little ones somewhere (not sure if i can say it?) yesterday, we've been before... there used to be an aquarium,dinosaur walk through,dinosaur 3d cinema,circus,ballroom and soft play.... (im sure youve worked it out anyway) all thats left is a new ride,circus,ballroom and soft play... it used to be a full day out and now its just 3 hours... it doesnt say anywhere that they have removed them and we only found out once we had paid and gone in.. i went back to reception and asked why and was told "we dont advertise attractions that we dont have, only the ones we do"

aibu to want to know things have been removed? the toddler was excited about the fishes, its her favourite but :(

They're being a bit stingy with Tesco Clubcard Vouchers as well now. You can't use them over the October half-term! Lucky I read the small print before ordering them.

hocuspocus.. do you know about the 2br vouchers? £21 for a half price ticket that you cant use!! only gets you into the tall bit, which isnt open becasue they are refurbishing it!

you have to admit, that is a very fair statement, and it always pays to check the website first these days...

If it is Blackpool Tower, then it has been a dump for years :(

I grew up there and it was an amazing place when I was a child, but over the years it seems to have got so grubby and bloody expensive.

The shabbiness is part of the appeal. Like the aquarium and dinosaurs. With refurbishment will come high prices and uniformity with other attractions.

£36 it cost for us, im only 40 mins away so is good for a day out with the little ones, not sure what they are doing to it, but theres a lot of building work being done every where

I can see their point tbh. I wouldn't really expect Alton towers to say ontheir advertising that they had removed the Thunderlooper for example.

It's far more normal to just advertise what they do have.

If they are key attractions that they know the public will be visiting for then they should definitely flag it up, the receptionist's excuse isn't good enough. We're closing something very popular at work, probably the most popular thing we've ever had. We're publicising the fact like crazy. People are rightly supremely pissed off if they've visited for a specific thing and it isn't there.

Is it Peasbodies (sp?) still the soft play area in Blackpool Tower? We used to love parties there when I was growing up. Biggest soft play area I've ever been to, used to love the slide down the stairs.

Because they didn't realise how popular it would be when they built it. It was supposed to be temporary but kept being extended. Unfortunately we have to do major renovations and it's blocking access into the building for all of the necessary equipment :(. We've been putting it off for years because of it.

Bum. I was thinking of taking DD over to the Blackpool tower seeing how she missed out on the Eiffel one.
Is the circus still there? Me and DH spent a lovely 4 minutes cramped into teeny tiny seats watching that about 15 years ago.

the circus is still there and brilliant! ive got £30 worth of tesco days out vouchers that i will use to see the circus again, my 2 year old sat silent and still for 2 hours!
