a parent to punish their child for punching mine in the neck instead of question what I bloody well saw?

I would punish my child for punching another child in the neck.

But only after I'd asked the parent/my child what had happened.

Was it a friend or are you a stranger at soft play/toddler group etc?

Do you have form for only seeing what you want to see?

If no to both (i.e you are friends not a stranger and don't have form) then YANBU

Also, not that its right, but any reason WHY he punched your child? How old are we talking?

This child started punching my son because he went to the playground near where his "base" was. I only happened to see it because I went out looking for ds for his dinner.

This is not the first time it has happened, and I am getting peed off now as well. Especially as this particular child also plays knock down ginger on my door when my very young dd is supposed to be going to bed. I have brought all of this up with the mother and she continually says "it can't be my child, he was here at this time". I have seen him with my own eyes when he is doing these things, otherwise they would be taken with a pinch of salt.

Sorry about the rant I am fuming.

We are friends, and I know damn well my son is not all sweet and innocent. I would punish him if he had done the same. If he had been at fault at all then I would have had him in and grounded.
