AIBU to ask for my money back when I want?

Ok, here goes, might be a little long but I don't want to leave anything out.

Two friends and I went shopping yesterday in a market. I lent Friend A £5 to get a top she wanted because she didn't have any cash on her at that moment. She said she would give it back when we got to a cash point.

Later on we three were in a restaurant together. We had finished eating and paid (in cash, after we all visited the cash point). Friend B and I decided we would like another glass of wine before heading home. I didn't have any cash left after paying for my meal so asked Friend A if she could get it for me (She had at least £10 in her purse left from dinner).

She said no, because she wasn't having another glass. I said ok, could I have the money and get it myself? She said no, because she wasn't having another glass.

She refused to give me my money back because she would be left out.

(Just for the sake of clarity, no she didn't need it for a cab or anything like that and if she couldn't afford to give it back she shouldn't have taken it from me in the first place...)

What the hell? Was I Unreasonable to be put out (at the very least) and reluctant to have any money dealings with her ever again?

She sounds odd - but it also sounds like miscommunication, since she kept mentioning not wanting the wine. Maybe she was feeling the effects of what you'd had already a bit and didn't quite follow? If she was a bit tipsy I'd not judge her too harshly, but otherwise, yes, she was strange and rude!

I said I haven't got any cash left can you get it with the fiver you owe me? She's a closer Friend of Friend B, who I am much closer too. She has a reputation for being very tight/weird about money but I'd never been on the receiving end before.

I'm afraid my reaction was to look agast at her and say 'oookay then....'

ok, well she's a loon, and at least you learned this lesson with a fiver rather than a large sum of money.

Send her a message telling her you want the £5 back ASAP. Then from now on, don't give her money.

She gave it to me at the busstop, at which point I did want to smack her but I just said it was a bit late now (and after she got on the bus B and I went to a bar.... Childish?)
