AIBU?

to think that BIL is a rude twat

Backstory - Him and I get on fine but I have always vocalised to him if I disagree with him. (And I disagree with him quite often as he treats his wife and kids appallingly sometimes and causes his parents and my DH quite a bit of stress).

Anyway, I am sitting in our front room with the blind open and I see his jeep pull into our drive. DH is still at work so his car is not here and BIL must have seen that and just turned his jeep around in our drive and drove back out! Cheeky sod!
There is no way he wouldnt have seen me as I got up from my seat to go to the door as soon as he pulled in (the side window of the room is also visible from the drive).

I have no burning desire to speak to him but to me that is so rude. He obviously just wanted to see DH but he could have at least said hi to be courteous.

No?

If he is that rude I really wouldn't stress about it. Is it worth the arguments. I would just put it down to him being an ignorant twat. Just keep it in mind.

Yanbu, maybe things between you are worse than you think?

Maybe he thought there was no need to bother you, since he didn't need to speak to you?

If you find him that annoying I would have been relieved.
No point picking another fight with him.

Thanks for the replies. Im over it now but I was just mad that he would have seen me get up and couldnt even be bothered to pass the time of day with me!

Dozer you may be on to something. DH says he's scared of me cause I tell it to him straight when everyone else tip toes around him.

I dont know why it bothers me as even if DH is here he will sit outside until he comes out rather than come inside. He does the same at other BIL's house. I think he's socially awkard.

OP, let me summarize and tell me if I get anything wrong.

You think BIL is a poor husband and father. You have expressed this opinion to him directly a number of times.

BIL comes over to talk to DH, probably sees you and avoids conversation.

Did I get this right?
