I had a pile of bricks outside my house for years that I tried to get DP to dispose of and eventually gave up (like you do) and sold them on ebay for the pribcely sum of 15p.
So, a nice man comes to pick them up yesterday evening, i help him load his car, he realises he's going to do 2 trips so I tell him to help himslef as I have to put DC's to bed. I hear him come back, rumble the bricks for 5 mins, then he leaves. A phone call 10 mins later from him tells me he found a bees nest in there, so left! I am thoroughly embaressed for one and have sent an apologetic email to the ebayer.
But after reading the thread about someones colleague killing the nest in her garden and seeling the slating she got could you please advise me what to do? I can't see a nest as such, I think they're in the holes in the bricks. If I move the bricks around, I can hear a lot of buzzing! Lots of bees come out, so I run away. Oh, and they are large red-tailed bumble bees (I looked it up in a book!).
I have to weigh up the bees rights, and my ebayers. Thank you.
