Picture the scene.

A glorious English summer day.

Sitting on the glorious breach looking at the waves crashing on the shore and watching the DC frolililicking in the shallows.

Feckchairs, windbreaks, bunting erected, a helium gold star marking the spot, tucking into strawberries and Pimm's.

Utter Bliss.

Then a family turn up, park themslves right in our line of vision, on a relatively quite beach, blocking our view of the DC.

And the were carrying their togs in carrier bags and proceeded to drink lager from the cans.

Shock

So, AIBU, to be thinking decidedly UnBlytonesque thoughts?

Shock

Outrageous. Had they had fine linen napery and crystal then it would have been one thing but no glasses at all Shock Were they wearing Boden or George at Asda? I second Bodyofeeyore, too, what brand of carrier bag were they carrying?

Disgraceful - unless they had lashings of ginger beer in the carriers and were chucking a ball for a dog called Timmy.

I know exactly what you mean. We went to the beach last weekend. Fairly empty beach, loads of space. Where do the people come and sit? Right next to us, of course. Why do people do this? Same as car parks. I always park as far away from Tesco as I can. There are usually loads of spaces. Where do people park? Right next to me so I can't open the doors very well. Don't understand it.

I was deported from Studland in around 1980. ExH had agreed with his father that we would be staying in their holiday home and using his car. Delightful exMIL called the police, said we'd stolen the car and broken into the house!

YANBU - I expect they could see that you were watching your DC in the water.

YABU to erect bunting on the beach! No need for that! They probably thought you were a bit smug and show-offy! Grin

Agre with the parking thing - why why why when there are literally scores of spare spaces do you choose to park next to me? And not only next to me but spend ages backing in to the space with multiple adjustments?
It's just weird.

YANBU. They probably did it to spite the bunting.
