AIBU?

Grrrrr people parking on double yellow lines outside nursery

Probably not AIBU because I'm sure I'm not but what can I do?

There are always parents/grandparents parking on double yellow lines outside my DS nursery to drop and collect their children. This causes traffic chaos (narrow road on t-junction) and means that other well parked parents have to weave between parked cars with little ones not having a clear view of the oncoming traffic. Often mums are carrying babies as well as taking older children in and it is so selfish of the other yellow-line parking parents to do this; it infuriates me everyday. Especially when it's raining and I have parked down at the end of the road and am walking up with 2 little ones and pregnant and often carrying all their stuff and trying to get them safely across the road.
About half of the cases someone is sitting in the car and someone else has taken kids in/ collecting kids so surely they can see the problems they cause and are not even embarrassed!
The head sends endless notes home about this but these parents seem to think they don't apply to them.
Arghh! This is just a rant isn't it? But it's better than resorting to violence!

So annoying. I have heard of schools that have a name and shame policy, where they publish the car make and numberplate of regular offenders ...

and don't get me started on people who park on pavements

Have a similar problem at dd's school and it irritates the hell out of me. Why can't people park a little further away and just walk?? Are people really that lazy?!

The one that really irritates me, and obviously the school to given the amount of times it's mentioned in news letters, is the mums that continue to park in the school car park. It's permit only for parents as there are hardly any spare spaces when the teaching staff are there.

Can you have a word with the local police/traffic wardens - they will shift the hardened core!

Call your council, they may send one of the mobile camera vans to ticket everyone.
Tell them that it is a regular problem, and about the danger.

I have a primary school at the end of my road. It is a narrow road so only 1 car can pass as the other side is all parked cars from residents. The parents don't want to park on the zigzags so they just stop the car in the middle of the road and let their kids out. It pisses me off every morning as cause traffic delays and stop me getting to my house after my own school run!
