She seems like a good egg.

I was cheering her on in the X Factor final (pissed, admittedly) saying 'go on Colleen, get a career in TV and then leave your ugly goodfornothing will-be-fat-at-35 husband and get yourself a decent bloke.

Personally don't think she is with Wayne for the money, just think she is a good catholic girl. And frankly her family seem like decent people - adopted a child with severe special needs.

She just seems like a nice, normal girl, despite the wag title.

I thinks shes a very typical wag

And despite the old prostitute and other affairs she stays with shrek..Would she stay if he didn't earn 30 billion a week? I think not.

would like her Cupboard to magically appear in my house for Christmas thoughXmas Envy

Nope, sorry, she is irritating as she has no talent and as far as I know has not worked her way up in fashion or as a tv presenter... However she is suddenly everywhere as if she were established in these professions. Just because she is Shrek's wife. Must be extremely irritating to those people who are trying to make their way in either career and have started at the bottom honing their craft over a period of years.

However she may be a very nice person in real life. I do not know her so cannot judge this.

The thing is, she must earn a hell of a lot of money on her own, didnt she get a million or so for the Littlewoods advert she did??

I think she is an utter disgrace who is telling young girs that its ok to let a man treat you like crap once he has lots of money. Makes me angry

"However she is suddenly everywhere as if she were established in these professions. Just because she is Shrek's wife"

Lucky her, then to take opportunities that are thrown at her.

Bit like Vicky B.

She hasn't earned any money of her own talents! W
Would she have got the littlewoods job(or any other) without being Mrs Rooney? Nope so shes trading off his fame

I don't think she is telling young girls anything.

She is a young girl herself. Am sure she is just trying to make the best of her own life, without worrying about being a role model to others.

Agree she should have left the vile ape.

YABU. I watched a programme she did a while ago, she was looking for 'real women' type models I think, and she seemed really false. Like she only wanted to faff around on screen with the other famous presenters and not engage much with the actual contestants.
That really put me off her, before all the cheating etc.

I think people need to get off their high horse about women who stay with their husbands after thay have cheated, it's easy to say someone should do this that or the other, but if you are married and have a family the situation isn't always as easy as just leaving.

Additionally, people who make out she is only staying with him because of the money is a ridiculously stupid argument, firstly, she is very wealthy in her own right and also would be entitled to pretty hefty maintenance payments for at least the next 18 years, if she did leave him. And secondly, their are millions of women who don't have rich husbands, who still stay with them after they have cheated, this situation is not exclusive to those married to premiership footballers.

I agree with the OP, I think she seems like a decent girl from a nice family who genuinely wants a happy-ever-after family life with her (idiotic) husband and baby.

And whilst I am at it, all this, "oh she wouldn't be anywhere if she wasn't with Wayne blah blah blah", is very true, but she is only taking advantage of the opportunities that are given to her, as would any of us I suspect, if we were in that position.
WAGS who don't work get a battering for just living off their husbands, and then those who do try and make some sort of career for themselves are slated as well.

Rant over.

I think everyone deserves a second chance...but a 3rd and 4th?

Report
BootyMum · 17/12/2010 16:10

diddl - she is lucky to have had these opportunities and I guess if she feels she is up to it she can make use of them.

However we do not have to like it or be gullible enough to think hmm young girl married to footballer, just the person I want to emulate, watch presenting a program, offer me fashion advice, want to dress like...

I just find her a bit pointless really.

And to call her an utter disgrace is a completely laughable and ridiculous statement. Get a grip.

Someone posted here the other day saying she had said it was fine for him to have sex with a prostituted woman on his stag night as that was just 'lads'.

I don't think highly of her after that statement. Even though I read it on mumsnet so it must be true ;)

YANBU, She does seem alright and has made good money in her own right (unlike most wags whos seem to do nothing but shop and sell shag stories to the SUN)

She should leave her arsehold husband but thats neither here nor there as many women don't bother to do it and their husbands don't have millions of pounds. Just because she is famous doesn't mean she owes it to everyone's daughter to be some amazing role model. That's what mum's are for, to be their own daughter's rolemodel
