Usually I'm OK about this, but every now and again I realise that I'm the only person that puts loo rolls on the loo roll holder, takes stuff upstairs that's waiting on the stairs to go up,even though there's a lot of it. There's other things, but that's what's bothering me today. Oh yes, and puts white stuff in the white wash basket.
I know it's not earth-shatteringly important, but does anyone else wonder why they bother?

YANBU to be fed up. Of course it's easier and quicker to do it all yourself but if no-one helps you it ends up with everyone taking you for granted and you being the resident house elf. So dig deep and find your inner Sergeant Major! Allocate jobs, draw up rotas, put up signs &, from now on, drag people from in front of TV to put things in washing baskets, replace loo-rolls and so on. Good luck

Yep - same here too! To be fair to DH, he is generally good at the domestic stuff and will do something if I ask him but I think he just doesn't see small things like I do.

My current peeve is that he leave his empty contact lense packets by the sink to pile up all over the place - PUT THEM IN THE BIN!!!

Oh! Yes. The fact that if you stop doing it for a day, the house is a tip. Then, Then DH tells you why you don't have more time to see friend,go to the gym, drink coffee on your day off! Because you should have lots of time! So at the weekend he can go to Gym! Rugby pub!!! WHAT with your ton of washing in the basket & kit all over the house I don't thinks so rant over. but not for long!

I refer to the 'levitating fairy' that lives in our house - she (definitely a she) takes things upstairs, takes things downstairs, puts the laundry on the floor by the basket in the basket, moves the whites to the whites basket, replaces the loo rolls (and kitchen roll too) take the bins out, brings the bin in, fills the dishwasher with the things on the surface just above the dishwasher (I could go on....)

YANBU. My DH also suffers from domestic blindness (DD is still too young to contribute much) and it drives me nuts. Either I do it myself or sound like a whining nag all the time!

Welcome to my life! Can I add putting empty milk bottles back in the fridge to the list? And leaving wet towels on the bed/on the floor.... (both done by DC, not DH, to be fair).

How about putting lids on things? I have to tighten every bottle or jar I pass as i go about my daily business.

DH's biggest crime is leaving cupboard/wardrobe doors open! But I have to say that it's usually me that steps over the things on the stairs and the wet towels on the floor and leaves dishes on top of the dishwasher. Blush I don't expect DH to do these things and I get around to them eventually. He usually just caves in before I do. I do refer to the magic qualities of the dishwasher, towels, stuff on the stairs and it has become a bit of a joke. I send him on here later... Grin

Loo rolls - I've threatened to insert them somewhere. Hubby leaves them constantly - then holds up the ONE time that the doorbell went when I was mid loo-roll changeover and got distracted as evidence I'm just as bad as him.

Have finally trained him to write on the shopping list when he uses the last of something - but he still insists that if we have one tin of things like tinned tomatoes in the cupboard we don't need any more until it's used up - has he never heard of store cupboards?

The other big one he does that drives me crazy - he hates wearing socks, so he takes them off when he gets home... doesn't put them in the laundry basket (downstairs bathroom so two steps away from him) - he shoves them down the side of his PC monitor. It's flipping disgusting!
