red blotches

DD went to hospital on saturday night, she came out in red blotches all on her face,neck and head and travelling down her body and wouldnt move her neck so i panicked and took her up to A&E, The doctor said"have u had her in the sun?" I said no she has been covered up,she said it looked like a reaction to the sun and to give her piriton. That was saturday and she still has the blotches,she seems ok though, my doctor said to keep her out of the sun, i had asked for sun cream on prescription, she said u shouldnt need any if she,s not in the sun! Consultant seemed very surprised when i told her that, i didnt know that these blotches would stay so long though

I suffer with polymorphic light eruption, which is basically a reaction to the sun, and when I get an eruption it can last for up to ten or twelve days. Sun cream can help, and make sure that she keeps covered up.

what does that look like wigwambam, is there any websites on it?
RE the doctors advice, we were going on holiday last january and our asthma nurse told me we could get suncream on prescription, we i asked the doctor she said she didnt need it and to make sure she stayed in the shade, in other words she didnt want to shell out for a prescription,anyway the eczema society has sent me a list of prescribable suncreams, so i presented it to the doctors prescription line and they were like "didnt u know u could get it on prescription?!" i have also asked for aveeno cream as i bought some over the weekend and it is brilliant

just read that link,very interesting,doesnt say anything about babies though,can babies get it? have an appointment with the gp this afternoon who usually totally disagrees with what i say re DD allergies etc, want to get all my facts right before i go and see her.

we have a holiday booked its lanzarote in jan06 so its not too hot wondering about the baby though with this polymorphic light eruption whether we should cancel,

the heat wont hurt her, but she will need to be shaded at all times. you can get shade a babes which ocover the whole of the buggy, sunsuits, high factor sun screens, long length high cotton count clothing.
