Hi. How worrying for you

My son has been in hospital a few times for operations, and they always let one of the parents stay. What facilities they provide varied from ward to ward (some had pull down beds, some had camp beds, one had no pillows at all) but all of the children were allowed to have 1 adult. And there were no visiting times for parents during the day, you could be there all the time.

Hope that puts your mind at rest.

How old is he?

Every time my ds has been to hospital I have been allowed to stay with him overnight. As far as I know ALL childrens' wards have a little camp bed next to the childs bed or they will give you one if you ask. IF, they try to say you can't stay kick up a stink and insist...they will have to let you, even if it's sleeping on a chair (which I have also done)

Also, ime, the staff are usually lovely and kids seem always to get better treatment than adults do in hospital.

He will be fine, honest. Which hospital might it be?

I think the staff are quite happy to have you there keeping your DS happy and amused too.
