And came out with a huge bag of creams. She has had eczema for about 3 years now and all we have been given for it with Oilutum cream and bath oil. She asked me what my rountine is with DD2's skin.... I have never been told to do a rountine. She asked if I knew what caused eczema... I said No, she was really shocked. She gave me steroid cream for her face, a small tube of evening primrose cream for when we are out and about, a huge bottle of doublebase, some more bath oil and some more oilutum. I am shocked that no one had bothered telling me to see this lady before and the doctors just kept given me oilutim cream ( they must know that its no good on cracked eczema!! and that you need to only use it as a moisterer) Oh well, at least I finally have everything I need to make DD2 comfortable.

I don't know much about eczema myself (I don't have it) DD2 was diagnosed at 4 months at the hospital when she seen by the SCBU team to see how she was doing, and I was given the Oilutum cream and oil then, and the GPs just have been giving me that each time. I only went to see the skin nurse as she had a hufe flare up last month and Misdee told me to take her to see the eczema nurse, so I got an appointment myself. The skin nurse is lovely and gave me lots of hints and tips, and said to go back in a month to get some more creams and see how DD2 is.

DS2's eczema has flared up recently (he's 9). don't know why, cos prior to this flare up it's been really under control.

Anyway, we have got some Aveeno which seems to be great, but where it was infected we've been using an antiobiotic steroid, although I don't really like using them too much.

I have recieved the DLA forms today and I really can't see how you fill in it for Eczema, I have two kids with Cerebral palsy and its easy to do with them but most of the questions don't apply to DD2 as she doesn't have a physical disablity. I am spending a lot of time with her doing baths and creams, and all the other crap that goes with Eczema and I get up to her in the night about 3 times (as well as the 2 or 3 times DS and DD1 get up due to the cerebral palsy, I don't know why bother trying to sleep TBH!! ) Any advice would be greatly appricated
TIA
