Pampers wipes causing nappy rash?

Hi mams,

My little boy is coming up 6 weeks on sunday and we are onto our second round of nappy rash already! I clean him instantly after he soils but its come back and hes red raw again!

The first time he got it i thought it must have been a horrendous poo that just burnt him instantly and started to use cotton wool and water to clean him rather than wipes and lather him in vaseline and it took a few days but it cleared up! Carried on for a week or so later and went back to Pampers Fresh Clean wipes and hey presto its back so im starting to wonder if its the wipes?!

Anyone else had this issue with these wipes? If so what did you switch to or should i just stick to cotton wool and water from now on and do we think hes going to be sensitive to everything?

Thanks! Smile

Pampers never agreed with my dc either. We used Huggies. Any variety!

We used water wipes for a looong time and then mammia sensitive.

I once used a huggies toddler (not actually sure why we had them) wipe about 5 days post partum and I thought I was dying.

Pampers wipes gave my Dd a spotty bum. Now I use mum & you (stupid sexist name though), those are fine.

Recommend Aldi wipes as the most gentle. Huggies are fine as well. However I find all wipes a little harsh so usually use a squirt or two of baby lotion on the wipe as a sort of cleanser. Works a treat and DC's bottom has never got rashy.

Both my dcs were allergic to pampers and Johnsons wipes so I switched to huggies (the green ones) and we still buy them now, 13 years later

Use your pampers wipes for hands and face when weaning, they won't be a waste.

I recommend cheeky wipes, mine have lasted 5 years and I only ever used water with them, so cheap and no allergies.
