Hi all
I just thought I would share with you that I went to a skin info day organised by the National Eczema Society yesterday. i'm so glad I did. I learnt more in two hours in what I've had of the GP's in anbout two years. We were guided round the stalls with a Dermatology Nurse who was a mine of info and went to two talks, one by the NES and one by Prof Roger Aldrige. The nurse was telling us a GP probably has about 6 days training in dermatology for his training. I was told to stroke cream on in a downwards motion - not to apply ointment or tubifast garments etc if eczema is weeping or infected (which I had done last week unknowngly). We were given lots of free samples of creams/ointments etc and told to try them (obviously not all at once). Was given lots and lots of leaflets that are so interesting. If you've not been to one, it's certainly worth going to.
